July Plant of the Month: Angelonia

Angelonia is a flower that stands tall and adds a pop of color in landscape flower beds or beautiful planter bowls. This flower is soft and delicate; it adds height and color to a garden without overpowering the other plants.

It is a relatively new plant and has only been around since the 1990s. This makes it both pretty and fresh. Angelonia is a tough perennial that stands up against the heat and humidity of summer while remaining attractive. The color varieties tend to be on the blue and purple to white color spectrum. Most angelonia grows upright and can reach one to two feet tall. There are other varieties that grow out rather than growing tall. This variety fills a container or flower bed well.

We love planting angelonia in our client locations. It would also do well in a home garden or hanging basket.
